1) Make sure your HDMI cable works with the input on your projector by testing it with another input on your TV first.

2) Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the corresponding slot in your TV or AV receiver that says "In" or "Input."

Connect the other end to one of two slots in the back of your universal remote control labeled "In" or "Input. Connect your DVD, Blu-Ray player, cable box or other device to the other slot.

3) Press the "Menu" key on your universal remote control. Look for a "Device" option, then press it. Select "Input," and then choose HDMI from the list.

It is much easier to connect your phone (or other devices) through a USB interface than through an HDMI cable. And the choice of how you want your picture shown on the screen is entirely yours – VGA or HDMI, or both.
